BGS Energy Services has been awarded a contract by Shell

CAIRO, May 27, 2019 — BGS Energy Services has been awarded a contract by Shell, the major oil corporation, and their Egyptian JV Bapetco for the supply of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) for Western Desert Fields in Egypt. The two-year contract will be executed by Stasis Drilling Solutions, BGS Energy Services’ main provider for the MPD segment. The work is scheduled to commence in Q3 2019. “We are delighted to be working with Shell/Bapetco on the successful long-term development of their Western Desert Fields through the delivery of the cutting edge MPD technologies,” said Mostafa Fouad, BGS Energy Services Global Director. “Our field-proven MPD technology, including our fully-automated and electrically-actuated RCD units, delivers unprecedented, consistent, operational quality and safety results at a very competitive price, which will enable Shell/Bapetco to access and drill formations, which were previously economically unviable.” This multimillion-dollar contract is the first to be won in North Africa, where drilling activities have been picking up since the last downturn in oil prices, and where BGS Energy Services has been focused on expanding their operation.
